VLC Media Player For iOS Now Hosted In Cydia

// Category:

Apple has removed VLC from the App Store after receiving a formal notification of copyright infringement from VLC developers. The notification of infringement was filed because Apple’s iTunes Terms and Conditions don’t allow users to install both free and paid apps on more than 5 devices. This goes against the original GNU license VLC’s code is based on.

If, for some reason, you missed the VLC train, worry no more because Ryan Petrich is hosting the app on his beta repo in Cydia. Let’s see how to get it…

1. Load Cydia

2. Tap the manage Tab

3. Tap Sources

4. Tap the Edit button

5. Tap the Add button

6. Type the following: rpetri.ch/repo

7. Tap Add Source

8. Install VLC media player

9. Enjoy
